Whenever you log in to QX.Net you will receive the same IP address, and will be assigned a custom machine name of your choosing (e.g. jonathan.static.qx.net). This can be useful if your home computer runs linux, or another flavor of unix, or if would like to experiment with your own server software on your home computer. (Dial-up accounts are not intended to be a dedicated connection, so Idle timeouts may apply).
